That’s not true in all cases. My boyfriend is the nicest man on earth but hey, he’s from a different religion and we originate from a country were inter-religious relationships faces tons of difficulties, resulting in death in some cases. We both don’t want people around us to separate us. So, except some wellwishing friends, none of our families or relatives know.

Not necessarily true. I’ve kept one a secret before but only to family and that was for myself until I was ready to reveal the man, waiting till I knew it was serious enough. But of course if the relationship is kept a secret to everyone, then yeah, time to move on to someone who will make their world know you.

Yep. This is a mistake I made with of hew exs. It’s complete crap. I’m sure there are a few instances where maybe keeping it a secret is ok but 99% it’s BS. Every experience I’ve had with secret relationships has been because she was seeing another man behind my back.

And there is a difference between being private and being secretive. Of course you should and can be selective in the details you choose to share about your relationship (private) but denying your relationship with someone or carrying on with someone that there is even a slightest chance is in a relationship with someone else is just crappy…and secretive.
