This is so true. Hard to get my head around why the need to constantly lie to me. Most were so obviously lies. But stubborn denial when confronted with truth or discrepencies in the lie. Become violent and hateful when pushed on the issue. I am free now but only the first steps away from him. Trying to stay strong. The confusion is real.

People hide the truth sometimes in fear of hurting someone else. It’s not always meant as blatant disrespect. There’s two sides to that coin, although as a policy, it’s always better to own up to faults and tell the truth rather than hide in a web of lies.
