I feel like you will always be disappointed if you expect someone to “fight” for something to not end. Most of the time people will disappoint you when you have any sort of standard, or expectation. You’re just setting them up to fail.

I did and it never happened. It is a good test to see if the person is sincere or not. At least, I was right, he found another one quickly.
