You’re better off because someone else is worse off is the stupidest thing to say to someone. I was talking to someone and they said “cheer up it could be worse, my friend has cancer” I replied …I have bipolar, ptsd, spondylolisthesis, sprained neck from car accident, tumor in my right eye, scoliosis, misaligned muscles, central auditory processing disorder, severe tinnitus, arteriosclorosis (prone to strokes), degenerative disease…amongst daily stress of kids and work and bills..etc….how is daily suffering better than daily suffering? I absolutely HATE it when someone compares one pain to another as if one is insignificant
