That depends. Some Ex’s are not friends. You keep them around for a reason. Thats asking for trouble in new relationships if they start to disrrspect it. Whole lot of variables here. Best just to kick them to the curb.

Sometimes “we can still be friends” is the buffer a person needs to start. moving forward; especially if they were not expecting the break up. Ultimately, when the dust settles, usually neither will want to remain friends.

Going through this BS at the moment. Just awful. Its like if you want to be with me then stay and work with me. Don’t just dump me like one of your toys and expect to have me at a distance while you go off and play around. And if you’re going to be my friend then actually be a fucking friend!

I disagree Whitney. My own experience is a testament to the fact that it’s possible. But it’s definitely rare, and it never happens right away.
