In a healthy relationship I think this is true. In a non healthy relationship it is not. You can love someone to the depths of your heart who is not good for you and leave because you have self worth for yourself.

His earthly desires stole him from me. He just decided that he’s not happy. It’s so easy for him to get influenced. That’s how he is. When he’s younger, friends influenced him in getting addicted to DOTA. Overcame it because of a hard life experience. Now that he’s doing great, he is influenced to enjoy girl hopping.
