No that is bullshit. Sacrifice does not equal love. You don’t need to sacrifice yourself to prove you love someone or something. To many people have been destroyed by this thought by people who TAKE more then they should and just continue taking without mercy.

This is not a healthy way of thinking at all. You shouldn’t put these expectations on other people. Especially if that friend is battling anxiety/depression, it’s not as simple as being able to put your own shit aside for someone else. Friendship/relationships shouldn’t be so black and white.

This would be called “kindness”. You apply this in friendships, relationships, even with strangers. The Lord calls us to be kind to others (everyone). This is human being advice. Kindness would even apply to self-centered, hateful and narcissistic people. Be kind.
