I disagree…. Sometimes you just need to sleep and forget about all the drama. Lack of sleep would probably worsen everything. People get grumpy and every little thing makes them angry because of that.

This is exactly why I’ve stayed on the phone for hours; messaging my SO back and forth when she’s been down. (We’re currently in a long distance relationship but see each other every few weeks) I have gone days with next to no sleep because I have sat there talking with her because she was hurting over her past.
Things have been getting better for her (bad medication and low self esteem) and I still am up half the night talking with her, but the tone is much better.

Usually staying up late at night waiting for you to be home only happens at the start of the relationship or at the courting stage.. ???

When I cry at night, and my husband is in a deep sleep, he hears me, jumps out of bed to come to my side, and holds me tight until I’m ok again! We’ve been together for fifteen years, and he has always done this!

You people are missing the point. This is about situations like when I was with my ex and having really bad stomach pains because I have gallstones. He was just laying in bed ignoring me almost screaming and pacing around his room in pain. I even got up and vomited a few times and he complained about my breath after being sick. Some folks are attention seeking types and will cry at the drop of a hat and get upset as quick as the wind blows and all for the sake of getting attention or unnecessary affection… it’s like a person who is bi-polar always up one minute and down the next… maybe they are always storming off.
