Relationship Rules
I can guarantee in another year no one will remember me or have time to care and no that is not being neurotic. They are so busy with their little lives it never occurs to them this to shall be their fate also. Somehow they always think it is going to be different for them–they have a “rude awakening to come”. Sometimes it makes you wonder why you bothered with other people in the workplace or why I took my job so seriously almost to the point of perfectionism. Unfortunately, when you work in a bureaucracy this is often the… Read more »
I’m going through a very hurtful breakup right now and I feel like such a fool cause I did everything for her i loved her for who she was flaws and all. I accepted things I would never except from other people because I cared so much about her. Then about a month ago she just leaves after a 8 month relationship. I know it wasent the longest relationship but I really loved and cared about her. I’m 37 and she’s 24 a little of an age difference I know but the way she just left no explanation no nothing… Read more »
So true! Amazing how it works both ways. You come to realize that it was the routine you miss at first and you actually don’t miss the people all that much. Life goes on.
I agree. If it’s that easy for them to walk away from you then they never really cared and that hurts. Especially when they say one thing and do another. Actions speak louder than words.
I refuse to BEG another person to love me, stay with me, need me- ever again. I am worthy of love AND respect. Peace out to the lame ass men who have no clue what they want.
Disagree! Our presence matters but not many people, even those closest to us, realize that until after we are gone.
When did people stop crying at funeral homes, at grave yards, on the graves, and etc?
Not true. Sometimes their absence is best when you finally realize how abused and controlled you were. It’s not about their presence never being mattered. It’s about it being mattered too much that you were allowing the other to smother you.
No one can ever see your worth not unless you are gone. It is only in that idea they will see how your presence affects one’s humanity. If they see our worth they will stay and realize how important no matter how hard the going is.
That’s right! F&$@ em.
They’re busy etc but yet you see where they got time for all these skanks.
They can keep em
True that, i think of someone everyday and hardly hear from her. So must be time to move on with my life as she has done with hers.?
This statement is false. I have been married for almost 14 years. I have moved seven times in that time period. And I and my husband have “changed” after we almost fell apart … and grown together into a trusting joyful 5-children marriage. I have had to leave many friends behind and grieved over losing their presence. People just have to keep living. This meme just generates more self-absorption. Love is an action that is self-sacrificial. The puppy love wears off. Love grows deeper by action, not feeling.
Everyone leaves an imprint of some sort… Sometimes some doors are meant to be closed… But live life with no regrets… Love the best you know how… Love with good intentions… Speak up for yourself… Don’t take the one you love for granted… Cus some relationships aren’t meant to be forever… Be hopeful in love, fight for it til you have no fight left … So no… That stated quote above is false… Some men love selfishly and run when they have a good woman who want to support them, love them unconditionally- bear the burden of his parents along… Read more »
I believe that 100% percent! If they don’t make effort and time to see and talk to you, and don’t value your presence in their life, then it just doesn’t matter to them. Same goes for just friendships.
I so enjoy when I need to see or hear something…blam…there it is. Even all the different opinions here. They all help when you are in the fog. Thank you everyone.
I tried very hard to make an effort but it went in vain so now I make myself absent. I know two wrongs dont make a right but sometimes a taste of their own medicine is needed.
Hmmm…but it hurts na…y they’d made u felt special so much n suddenly u r nothing nowhere…just lots of unforgettable memories,thoughts,tears,regret n hatred for urself…!!!
Of course they did matter… Though, feelings change, people get lost and start moving on… That’s life!
This post is true for those saying it is not. Its not talking about like the out of sight out of mind stuff. It’s like when you pretty much barley check up on the person or make some time for them. Not when you’re busy and don’t have time.
That’s so not true.. sometimes someone is just ‘broken’ and all the love in the world can’t fix them. So when you’ve had enough, you move on for your own sake. It doesn’t mean that they never mattered, it just means that you have enough self worth to not lose yourself while trying to ‘find’ them.
Don’t try to make your presence known
Stop making yourself available
Let it go for a,while so he knows what it’ll be like without you
Just cuz you wit somebody dont mean shit you could be with somebody and still feel alone and be miserable some relationships just aint worth shit and are just a waste of time its better to move on and actually be happy then to continue to hold on to garbage ???
Not true. Too many people fail to realize how busy people get. Look from two perspectives yours and attempt to see theirs. If you can walk away to preserve yourself without even making an effort to have an adult conversation with them then it’s you who lacks the desire to be in a relationship, friend or otherwise.
Can’t make a blanket statement like that about everyone and all relationships. It’s not true. The other person matters but being an option when you make them a priority causes one to realize their own worth and feelings change. Self-preservation kicks in and one learns to let go of relationships that are unhealthy. When an experience no longer invokes emotion that means one has healed.
It hurts when you think you really are special to someone and the next day you are left behind because of someone new in the picture . Like why is it so hard to trust someone and be so confortable with that person . I guess some ppls it’s like a game for them to hurt others . Why ?
