Yup! I straight up about what I can and cannot do, but I will help where I can. But I fully aware of the “you have to take care of yourself in order to help others” mantra in that you need to be secure and independent.

How true of that quote. True people are the strongest in their trials who truly want and does help others even in their own time of hardship or what ever they are going thru.

Amen.. Sometimes we have to put our own pain, and issues aside…someone else is in greater need. I lost my 33 year old son almost 2 years ago. I ache to the bone…miss him so much!! I don’t know how. But we must go on.

I’ve been through some rather messed up crap but I always make time for people if they need help. Because I know what it’s like to not have that support or help.

I’ve always done this and it’s about time I start helping myself first because those that I help first end up taking advantage of me, abusing me, betraying me and leaving me. Which brings more problems to myself that I don’t need and don’t deserve. No one will be able to help you unless you help yourself first. So, I will start helping myself first because I can no longer help others before helping myself.

Agreed. I feel better if I can help someone even I am in a great need of different kind of help. I feel like my situation isn’t the worst, I feel like I’m useful. It gives me hope again. 🙂

It absolutely depends on how deep their own personal problems go. At some point one has to look after their own well being and protect their sanity before putting others first. If you are not well how can you help someone else?

Agreed, I find it comforting that I was able to help someone else with a problem, even though I have been depressed myself. I mean, why should their be two people with a problem, when only 1 will have a problem. In Star Trek, the Vulcans have a saying – The needs of the many outweigh the needs of few or one.

Is the glass half full or, is it half empty? Everyone has lessons, experiences, life happening simoultaneously. Life doesn’t just stop flowing … Some are just called to help others grow, or heal, or for a spefic reason and regardless of what’s going on in their own lives … They can’t turn away.

If you are one of those. Know your limits, as with limits comes freedom … Freedom from being taken for granted, used, etc. Know your boundaries. Know yourself. Be healthy and beautiful.

I loved someone with all of me, i stay by his side in his worst moment in life, when I need him, he just runaway and living me alone and (just in figure) leave me bleeding by myself. How can I love again? How can I trust again? I don’t trust in anyone.

Very true, unfortunately, it’s those same people who do not get the same in kind? since they’re always “perceived” to be the “strong one” no one ever cares to see if THEY are ok. At some point, you have to readjust and focus on yourself. It doesn’t make you selfish. Because if you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t be any good to others, people will wear you down.
