My take on this is keeping your relationship private means not letting the world know about every little fight or argument you have. Not everyone needs to know your business. In fact, no one needs to know that business except you and your significant other. Strong relationships are built upon trust between the two individuals. How can there be trust between you when you yap about your problems with other people and not your s.o.?

That happens when you want to be open on social media to flirts or swings. Worse treatment for your partner.

Yeah, this is so true. He was so private and obsessed with his privacy, and I respected that. But I hate the secrecy, because he turned out to be deceiving and full of secrets and ended up fooling me in the end. It sucks! Funny thing here, he is the one who accuses me of many ridiculous things, that includes me, hiding something from him. Arrggghh sacred of his own demons.

I’m a private person. I do talk about my boyfriend to people on my facebook account, but I don’t need to post it all over my facebook. My relationship is my business and what goes on in it, is between me and my boyfriend

The balance is hard because sometimes your partner doesn’t understand that’s a privacy issue. I’m struggling with this right now. He thinks I’m hiding him so he’s commented several times. I want him to understand it’s not a “secret relationship” from my family. My family can be intense so I’m trying to protect him from it.

I kinda have to laugh at this cuz when my husband and I first started dating he refused to tell him parents, now in the midst of a divorce 12 yrs later we decided to give it one more try and started dating again yet he is refusing again to tell his parents!! Guess this shows me yet again how much I mean to him!! ?

Yes. Men who want it to be a secret are trying to make certain women think they are free and available. They have no substance or backbone and it’s sad for their current woman who is unaware. If he does it to her he’ll do it to you.

Sometimes you have to keep your partner a secret, atleast in the beginning to make sure that the relationship is going to last. Don’t wanna bring someone around in 2-3 weeks, let them meet your family or friends, then all of a sudden it ends and everybody’s like “what happened.” Need to let the relationship grow and make sure it’s true and stable before anybody meets. I say a minimum of 6 months

So true! If you don’t want others to know you are in a relationship because you ‘value your privacy’ then you are really saying you want to have the option to keep playing the field and flirting on and off social media.
