I used to think that giving a part of myself, genuinely, to someone else meant that if we parted I was somehow reduced. But I’m not. Now I think, my little light shines with them wherever they are. They’ll keep that much of me to make them better & I in turn, will sprout wisdom & gain from what we shared. It takes a while to understand this, but it’s true. At least for me.
