The person who loves you and fights for you will always be the one who hurts you the worst due to the simple fact that you love them and fight for them just as much. Its amazing how “I love you” is something we come to expect from our loved ones so we don’t pay as much attention to it, however when someone says “I am no longer in love with you” it takes every inch of our body not to break down. It hurts so much worse than one would expect it too. If any of this makes sense..

I totaly get the hidden meaning……my ex husband was the one i loved and cherished i never saw the end in sight for us but it came in a blink of an eye that he had my heart in his hands and crushed it i totaly get it……..the reason why the people closest to u hurt u the most is because u truly do love them its not always a bad thing it just shows that the love u have for them is coming from the soul

He said he would always love and take care of me till the end of time…..he did until he passed, cancer took him after 3 years together. There are no guarantees…I found out.

very true..am going through this everyday and this killing me inside..it really really hurts. He doesnt care to ans my calls nor msgs nor even want to mit me suddenly wants to finish everything with me but am unable to finish coz he is my life my everything now. He doesnt give a damn care for me nor ever try to call or meet me its so hard to see he is the same person who day n nite was saying i love u n suddenly treat u as if u r a shit.

Not true, long term relationships are buit on a love/hate. if you are truly going to make it last, you have to understand that it is not always rainbows and butterflies and the one you truly love will sometimes hurt you but look at the good times out weigh the bad. Sometimes you have to be humble and understand yours and your partners faults and accept them. It doesn’t mean they love you less.

What irritates me the most about this post is that it switches from singular to plural

The one you thought would fight for you and love you most, will be the same one who hurts you the most.

It’s because we let them. We need to stop caring whether or not they’ll be there for you, stop caring if they love you. I guess I’m indirectly advocating ignorance is bliss, sometimes.
