I think its more like a couple that doesn’t try to change one another. They are who they are and they are loved for it, or not.

This is about keeping your individual identity as a couple. This works for many it’s called trust, loyalty and an outlet

If not it can’ be helped? So just ignore the world until someone stumbles into you and says let’s be together? That would take stepping out of the isolationism this promotes. My husband and I each have our hobbies, but there is definitely together times we make for each other, and things we do for each other to make the other happy. This above statement does not define a happy relationship, but a dysfunctional one.

Yeah, I think this is just beautifully said. There’s truth to it. You don’t have to change yourself or the other and vice versa. You’re in a relationship because you have accepted each other in the first place. That’s the word…acceptance. Two people, totally different from each other, found each other and accepted each other’s individuality, I think it’s just beautiful. And it sure IS healthy.

Okay, the quote is supposed to mean that people should not go into relationships looking for a life-raft, a knight in shinning armor, or any other unreal expectation. It also is trying to say that if things just aren’t working out an the two people are not happy together, then so be it.
The quote is about accepting your partner for who he/she is without the crazy idealizations, demands or silly clinging on when it’s clearly a sinking ship.

I cant bash this cuz it does work for other couples but I didnt get married to be alone. Sounds like a lonely relationship instead of a healthy one but then again healthy is whatever makes u happy and If being together doing things apart makes u happy then go for it I guess. Kinda sad to me tho.
