I’ve found this never works. My last bf and I tried this for a while. I love him very much…and couldn’t settle just being his friend. I thought for a long time, “If it’s the best I’m going to get, then I can do this…friends is better than nothing.” I disagree. I went through a lot of pain when we cut off all ties, but it’s eased tremendously…versus the pain I’d still be feeling by being “friends”.
