This reminds me of one of my favourite quotes/passages. It’s a bit on the lengthy side, but you’ll like it. I promise. “For me, trees have always been the most penetrating preachers. I revere them when they live in tribes and families, in forests and groves. And even more I revere them when they stand alone. They are like lonely persons. Not like hermits who have stolen away out of some weakness, but like great, solitary men, like Beethoven and Nietzsche. In their highest boughs the world rustles, their roots rest in infinity; but they do not lose themselves there,… Read more »

No…I’m not upset. I am not mourning. I am not torn. I am not weeping. I am a mighty tree. My roots run deep. My branches reach up into the sky. My growth is continual. This is just a leaf. Some little thing which has run its course. I cannot continue to feed into it. To do so would be to take away from the core of Me. To do so would be to stunt my growth. My branches would no longer reach quite as far into the sky. My hopes would be set aside. All because I wanted to… Read more »

…and your favorite baseball team is once again not playing in the World Series, your favorite Football team’s season is already going down the drain, but every good fan knows that as time goes by the teams will come back and a new season starts again.

Whoa….Exactly what I needed to read. People can interpret however they want, but I think they get what they need. (I hope that sounded okay, recovering from a migraine).

Except the world is not surrendering. Just some parts of the world are. The other part shall also surrender but six months later. It’s just half of the world surrendering, so I don’t see how Autumn is only relatable to October. 🙂

It’s also important that the trees are not wasting energy on holding onto the leaves while they have to focus on surviving the winter. It’s like humans who know their own value so, they help others when they can, but when helping the others means forgetting about themselves – that’s sacrifice and usually not a smart one.

It’s Spring here in New Zealand so not many leaves falling just getting closer and closer to summer. 🙂 only down fall is we don’t get a white Christmas – which I would love – we’re blessed with summer every year instead though and it’s amazing. ?

This is a bad metaphor because only deciduous trees shed their leaves. This totally ignores that their are ever greens who retain their leaves throughout the year.

Yeah….. the leaves falling serves the purpose of protecting the ground during the winter months…… everything in nature serves a generally positive purpose

Here in Oz, Eucalypts lose bark once a year and leaves all year round. Does this mean Ozzies are built with strong inners (trunks) and are constantly shedding unwanted and not needed parts/people (leaves).
