When I met my Boy Friend, he drove 21/2 hours just to go on our first date, He did this almost every other day, Now We are living together and I am happier then I have been in a very long time. Any man who would do that, is definitely a Keeper.

This is dumb, the sentiment is awesome, but the reality of it is its impractical AND one person is definitely in control rather than it being an equal partnership, THAT does not equal a healthy relationship at all.

Uhhhhh No, wth? Why would anyone do that. Schedule your time better and pick a day where you can spend a day or more together. Waste of gas.

Drove for over 16 hours to see my lady for 2 1/2 hours. Drove back home the next day with a smile on my face because for those 2.5 hours, I was spending time with her and nothing else mattered.

See my problem is girls want a guy that does that but don’t want to do it in return. Find a couple that both do that and then let me know everything is so one sided now.

An ex use to do this when our schedules didn’t allow us to spend every other weekend together. He’d take his day off to drive 6 hours while I was at school to surprise me when I got home. Occasionally he’d stay all evening to drive back home in the middle of the night arriving back in time to go to work next day. He sure had a sweet side when he wanted to show it.

Everyone saying how it’s obsessive if a man does this. Time really is the greatest thing you can give to somebody, as it’s the one thing you can’t take back. When you’re looking back on your life, you’ll most remember the times you did see each other for that hour, quick dinner, quickie in the first room you get to, quick cuddles and a chat; rather than how patiently you waited to see them for a longer amount of time. Yes be patient, be kind but if you have the fuel and time to spare be fucking spontaneous and spend… Read more »

before my mom and dad got married, my Dad lived in Durango, (a state in Mexico), and my mom in Aguascalientes, other state, he had to go on horseback riding thru mountain range like 9 hours just to get to the city then, driving the 5 hours, and the whole trip to get back, and he did this every single weekend for 2 years

I think the point of this statement is that you should be with someone who appreciates you enough to make the journey. Time management skills a plus, of course. Consideration, also a plus. It also should go both ways, i.e. mutual appreciation, consideration, selflessness. “Should” being the key word in that sentence. Just saying…

I don’t think any man would do that other than one. My best friend Andrew who used to drive every weekend to be with his girlfriend from Newcastle to Perth and now he lives there with her. So there are guys that would 🙂

As long as it’s only now and then and not every week, if she truly is the one she will start meeting you half way on gas or a planned out not so planned out adventure in between..and something to eat, cause it would take me 6 hours If I have to make a stop and not fall asleep when I get back on the highway.

Be with someone who will never give up on you no matter how hard the situation is, by that you can prove to yourself that he/she really loves you..#justmyopinion

I married one of those…an hour visit every now and again isn’t a good way to get to know someone. Sure it’s flattering and romantic but you can hide alot of character flaws in a short visit. Instead be with someone who’ll rearrange there life to be closer to you and truly spend time with you. There is no substitute for time spent getting to know someone.
