Yes. Because my mother died a week before, and we had her memorial service on my birthday. So…yeah.

Every single year after my father’s death. He was the only one who’d be the most excited for my birthdays. It’s been 13 years since he’s gone but I still can’t seem to move on.

Last year on my 23rd birthday I was angry at myself. I was driving in a car that I didn’t own, I was barely making any money as a lyft driver, still living at my mom’s place, never went to college, etc. I felt like I hadn’t accomplished anything and it was driving me insane to see people my age and younger who were successful. I didn’t cry, but only because I forced myself not to. There were definitely tears in my eyes. Now I’ve chosen not to focus on the past and what I didn’t do, and instead focus… Read more »

Every one since I was 13. No one showed to my 18th, no friends left at 21, the people i did ask to my 25th cancelled 1/2 hr before it was to start and my 30th my partner decided he didn’t want the big weekend away I had planned and paid for.

🖐🏽 not a fan of being celebrated by others on my birthday. Bad luck. But I love my birthday. Nature and I celebrate.

Yes, last birthday and 2 birthdays before that because my exes made sure I don’t have even a single good day.
As hindsight is a wonderful thing, I decided to stop looking forward to my birthday and have whatever fun I want on any day I want.

My 30th birthday, right after finding out my husband was having an affair. So I had both 😢 But then I took a trip to Mexico and when I got home I bought a motorcycle and I’ve been living happily ever after!

I don’t think my bday is a big deal. And could care less if people remember it or not. I prefer to surround myself with only the people that care everyday, not just on certain days. I don’t like Valentine’s or mother’s day either. I prefer little appreciation for no reason, not on a hallmark holiday.

I nearly took my life on my 23rd birthday. Didn’t plan it that way, just really unfortunate timing. My mom came in right before I took the pills and took them from me. My best friend came over to look after me and sobbed into my shoulder and said “Don’t ever scare me like that again.” That was a very dark time. But I am on the up and up now!
